Not too long ago, my friend DC and I were talking - over one too many bottles of wine - about the kind of men we want to be... and most importantly, the kind of men and women we will like to RAISE... A lot of the details of our discussion blur even more as I try to recall our discussions after the first bottle, but the kind of man I want to be is something that has guided me, my decisions, my actions, everything for as long as I remember. My True North if you will.
I want to be a GOOD man. that's it!
Nothing's more important than this to me.
I want to be the kind of man that, whenever people come across me, they can say, I met a good man.
I want to be the type of person who's there for others when they need someone to be there for them. I want to be able to, as I lay my head at the end of the day, smile at the knowledge that I put a smile on someone's face... I said something that made someone realize that they're not going through this life alone...
I don't want to be exceptional (that'll be nice tho... but that's not what drives me). I just want to be good. I don't want to be rich... actually, that'll be really nice... but I want, first to be able to look back and say, because of my little contributions, this aspect of society is better. I just want to be good. I don't want to be first... I just want to be good. I don't want to be the one who changed your life... I just want to be a reason why life is easier for you.
At the end of the day, I just want to spread love, joy, hope, inspiration, love - again.
I just want to be good!
If there's one thing I've learned from my father over all these years... it's that (how do I put this..?) "the true essence of a man can only be defined by how he really feels about himself, his actions, his decisions and most importantly, his contributions towards improving the lives of the people of the people around him..."
I just want to be a good man! NO MATTER WHAT!
Most importantly, I want to raise good people.
Yesterday, the floodgates of heaven opened up and it rained trolls from evil people like my younger brothers, General et al... I received messages that made me almost cry... George declared the day a holiday... my team @Y'G surprised me with cupcakes, memes were shared, pictures, trolls again but most importantly it rained love all over me.
For that, I'm eternally grateful.
Gestures such as people making time out of their busy schedules to make fun of you or to send you a sweet message remind me that I am definitely not going through this life alone.
For you who made the time to make me feel special... THANK YOU
For you who forgot... the PS5 is already out... you know where to get me one.
One thing I can promise is that I'll stay wanting to be a good man... I will never relent in trying to a better version of myself and I call on everyone to join me
Thank you
